CDN Planning has been invited by Holder Mathias Architects to assist in  design brokerage and negotiation workshops for the regeneration and redevelopment of Barry’s waterfront, specifically land surrounding the port’s Number One Dock.

The master plan will include 2,000 homes, approximately 300,000 sq ft of commercial and retail floor space and the prospect of a hotel and cinema within the 41-hectare scheme of brownfield reclaimed land.  The mixed-use development will be delivered by a consortium comprising Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon Homes and Barratt Homes.

Since September 2008 Kedrick Davies, one of CDN’s directors, has been providing the consortium with urban design advice in order to achieve a high-quality scheme meeting the highest environmental standards.  The redevelopment of Barry’s waterfront will play a vital role in the ongoing regeneration of South Wales, creating new jobs though commercial and leisure developments.
