





Rhys Davies has over 20 years experience in planning both in the public and private sectors. He has experience of working in Planning Policy, Development Control and Planning Enforcement Departments. This provided a sound and detailed grounding to his career. Rhys also has extensive experience in planning consultancy and on the client-side as National Head of Planning for the Co-operative Group.
Rhys has acted as lead planner on a number of major developments, including supermarket and non-food retail developments’ renewable energy schemes and major housing and mixed use developments.
In 2005 Rhys joined CDN Planning as a Director and has provided businesses in North Wales with planning consultancy services’ including pragmatic appraisals, submission if planning applications and appeals many of which have led to direct commercial and operational benefits to businesses, which in turn has led to further investment by those businesses in North Wales. This has included investment by supermarket operators such as ASDA and ALDI and also investment by smaller companies, such as Ye Olde Bulls Head Inn, Beaumaris and clothes retailer Fat Face at Beaumaris following the resolution of listed building and conservation area design issues.
Rhys has also advised many businesses on assessing the impact of proposed developments on their existing businesses and premises and successfully making representations to secure key changes in development proposals to avoid conflict with existing businesses.
