Appeal success in Bridgend

A Planning Inspector has allowed an appeal that results in planning permission being granted for a new dwelling within the Newcastle Hill Conservation Area. The main issue was the impact of the proposal on highway safety; the Inspector agreed with CDN Planning’s submission that given the local context, the frequency of vehicular movements on the highway and the speed of vehicles within the area, the proposal would be acceptable and would not be prejudicial to highway safety interests.

The Inspector also found the scheme to be compatible with local residential properties and that the design of the proposed dwelling would preserve the character and appearance of the Conservation Area.
