Our clients Westlink Developments Ltd. have been pleased to receive two planning permissions for change of use in May.
The first will see the redevelopment of the former Salisbury Conservative Club on Walter Road into offices and apartments. The project will see the creation of two ground floor offices and six apartments on the first and second floors. CDN Planning and the applicant worked closely with Swansea Council to ensure that the development will retain and enhance many of the original features of this historic building.
The scheme does not provide any off road car parking but will encourage sustainable transport via the provision of bicycle racks. Its location in close proximity to services and the town centre places the development in a sustainable location and Swansea Council were persuaded to support the application despite not meeting current parking standards.
CDN Planning also secured parking for Westlink for the change of use of Llanfair House in St Mary’s Square in Swansea City Centre from commercial office use to 22 student apartments. The apartments will be located over three floors with Again the application was approved by Council despite not providing off road car parking based on the sustainable location of the redevelopment and the provision of adequate secure bicycle parking.
