Planning Permission for an HMO in Carmarthen

CDN Planning are pleased to start the new year with a planning permission from Carmarthenshire County Council. A planning application to change the use of a detached house to a House in Multiple Occupation was submitted in the summer of 2014. Although the application was recommended for approval by planning officers, it was called-in to committee by the local Member. At October’s planning committee Members voted to defer their decision until they had undertaken a site visit. This took place in January 2015 (nothing like a speedy and swift planning system…!) and at the subsequent committee meeting Members voted unanimously to grant planning permission, despite intense objection from the local Member. The applicant – and no doubt his student tenants – isĀ “relieved.”
